Should the corps be corpses?
It's a modern day fact of life that mega-corporations have a lot of power, and are indeed an integral part of most of our daily lives.
What exactly are these creatures -- these corporations?
The premise of this blog is that there is a fundamental flaw in the structure of corporations, i.e. that they have many rights and powers and no conscience, no innate respect or regard for their own creator, "we the people." In fact, they are structured in the opposite direction. Their mission, their mandate, their purpose is to make profits.
We have seen again and again how this spins out of control, as laws are broken, bribes are paid, people are killed or injured, all in service to the success -- or profit -- of a corporate interest.
We actually have in our own backyard the monster that many of us fear computers might become, the "Hal" of 2001 is built into our corporate codes.
What have we done? Is it too late to uncreate this monster?
