Mother Jones made a detailed report on the CEO compensation of ten corporations that had increased executive compensation egregiously despite the desperate condition that many middle class and unemployed citizens find themselves in.
In an earlier article, Mother Jones demonstrated how "CEO Pay Shoots Up At Expense of Workers."
BP, despite the horrendous devastation to the Southeast also handsomely rewarded its principals.
This nonstop trudging toward profit profit profit at ALL costs is insane.
A course correction is in order. Do we have a government "of the people, for the people and by the people" -- or do we really want to have a government "of the corporations, for the corporations and by the corporations"?
In order to bring corporations into line with our own federal Constitution and Declaration of Independence, it's time to take a look at corporations codes across the country. Or perhaps it's time for a constitutional challenge to reestablish the horse before the cart.
