A Threat to Democracy

Why is the current corporate structure inimical to democracy?

Corporate corruption creates financial meltdown.

Financial meltdown is disproportionately suffered by poor, seniors and middle class.

Poverty gives rise to need for extreme measures, i.e., appointment of financial manager dictator to "correct" the situation.
